PRACTICE STAFF
Practice Manager
Mrs Heather Brown
Mrs Brown, as the practice manager, manages and co-ordinates the day-to-day running
of the practice along with planning for the future. She is also the first point
of contact for patients with comments or complaints.
Receptionists
The receptionists will help you to obtain the medical and nursing services that you require. They are trained to take essential information and treat this confidentially. They appreciate your co-operation.
Practice Nurses
The practice nurses can advise on minor injuries/illness and run the chronic disease
management clinics. They provide clinics for dressings, ECGs and spirometry amongst
other things. They also give advice on travel medicine and perform immunisations.
They may also provide new patient checks.
Health Care Assistant
The health care assistant performs blood tests and ECGs. She may also provide
new patient health checks.
Administration Team
The administration team are responsible for ensuring that all letters and reports are prepared within the set time limits and that any referrals are sent to the correct destination.
They are also responsible for dealing with all insurance reports and arranging medicals.
Dispensary
The dispensary team work to ensure that your repeat prescriptions and medication are ready for you to collect within two working days of your order and dispense medication that is prescribed in surgery.
Practice Administrator
All incoming mail is now scanned onto your electronic medical record. Our administrator is responsible
for ensuring that this happens as well as ensuring that medical records are correctly received and
sent from/to the Primary Care Trust when a patient either joins or leaves the practice.
District Nurses (01743 792971)
The district nursing team is based at the practice. They look after patients
from a large rural area which includes Bayston Hill, Pontesbury, Westbury and
Worthen.
Health Visitors (01743 452300)
The health visitors attached to the practice monitor and give advice on child health problems.
They also carry out developmental assessments.
General Practitioner Registrar And Students
Our practice is a training and teaching practice. Our registrars are fully qualified and have a great deal of hospital experience. They are attached to our practice for 4 to 12 months and they are at all times encouraged to seek advice when required from the practice partners.
We are also fortunate to have medical students attached to our practice for short periods. If you do not wish to have the student present during your consultation please inform the reception staff prior to seeing the doctor.
When booking an appointment you may be asked if you would consult with one of our registrars who are excellent doctors, appointed by the practice.
